Petrol, diesel prices rise to 19-month high
New Delhi: State oil companies have raised rates of petrol and diesel by Rs 5.5- Rs 5.8 per litre in ten days, taking retail prices to their highest in 19 months.
Petrol price was up 47 paise a litre and diesel 93 paise a litre on Tuesday. In Delhi, petrol sold for Rs 76.73 a litre on Tuesday, the highest since November 17, 2018. Diesel retailed for Rs 75.19 per litre, the highest since October 21, 2018.
In Mumbai, petrol and diesel sold for Rs 83.62 and Rs 73.75 per litre on Tuesday.
State oil companies have hiked fuel rates for ten straight days. The cumulative price hikes for petrol and diesel have been Rs 5.47 and Rs 5.8 per litre, respectively.
