Petrol, diesel prices cut today as crude oil hits year-low. Latest rates here
NEW DELHI : As crude oil rates fell 11% in 5 days to its lowest level since January 2019, petrol and diesel prices were cut today by 5 paise a litre each. In the last three days, fuel rates were left untouched by state-run retailers.
In New Delhi, a litre of petrol is being sold for ₹71.96, diesel ₹64.65. In Mumbai, petrol costs ₹ ₹77.62 a litre and diesel ₹67.75. Those in Bengaluru will have to pay ₹74.41 for a litre of petrol and ₹66.84 for diesel. In Chennai, a litre of petrol costs ₹74.75 and diesel ₹68.27. Retailers in Hyderabad are charging ₹76.47 for petrol and ₹70.42 for diesel.
February has been a month of continuous decline in fuel rates as prices were hiked only once. Based on a complex formula which takes into account a 15-day average of international benchmark rates of petrol and diesel, fuel retailers revise prices everyday at 6 am.
