Petrol, diesel price rises again on Saturday after a day’s pause

Petrol and diesel became costlier in Delhi on Saturday after prices were hiked by 35 paise per litre.

Petrol is retailing at Rs 98.11 per litre while diesel prices in the national capital are at Rs 88.65 per litre.

In Mumbai, petrol is selling at Rs 104.22 while diesel is retailing at Rs 96.16 per litre.

The Oil Marketing Companies effected a hike on Saturday after leaving the prices unchanged on Friday.

In Chennai, petrol is priced at Rs 99.19 a litre while diesel comes for Rs 93.23 per litre.

Petrol is already above Rs 100 in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. It has crossed the Rs 100 mark in many parts of the country.

Diesel has also crossed the Rs 100 mark in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh and some parts of Odisha.

Fuel prices are soaring on the back of hardening of global crude oil prices. Petrol and diesel prices vary from state to state depending on the incidence of local taxes.
