Petrol costs Rs 100.58/litre in Bengaluru, diesel Rs 85.01/litre

BENGALURU: Motorists in Bengaluru heaved a sigh of relief after the Centre announced a cut in excise duty on Wednesday evening and the Karnataka government implemented Rs 7 per litre reduction in the state tax on fuels.
In Bengaluru, per litre petrol price reduced from Rs 113.93 on Wednesday to Rs 100.58 on Thursday, a reduction of Rs 13.35/litre. Similarly, diesel prices slashed from Rs 104.50/litre on Wednesday to Rs 85.01/litre on Thursday, a cut by Rs 19.49/litre.
The Union government on Wednesday evening slashed excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 10 respectively which came into effect from Thursday early morning. Karnataka government’s Rs 7 per litre reduction in the state tax on fuels was implemented at 6pm on Thursday.
