People on war path after BCCL serves eviction notice
People of different areas are on war path after BCCL has served eviction notice to around 500 families residing underground mines fire and subsidence affected areas of Jharia coalfields.
Residents of Liloripathra, Kujama, Indira Chowk, Jairampur besides others were served election notice by BCCL area management and have been asked to evacuate the area within a fortnight or face forced demolition of their houses.
These families have already been allotted quarters in Belgaria, the new township constructed for those being displaced by company due to Jharia underground fire.
Project officer KK Singh who has issued notice said,“Those served notice have also been provided the number of the allotted quarter has been mentioned on the house at Belgaria”.
