Penalties will make discom delicensing a success: RK Singh

Heavy penalties on state power distribution that do not make way for competitors will make delicensing of distribution sector a success, power and renewable energy minister RK Singh told ET.

The proposed amendment to the Electricity Act is awaiting cabinet clearance before being tabled in Parliament, he said.
