Peak power demand in Delhi hits another high, crosses 7,300MW

New Delhi: The national capital recorded a peak power demand of 7,323 mega watts (MW) – the highest in two years — on Friday, with officials saying that they managed to meet the demand “without any constraints”.

“Despite sharp increase in electricity demand, Delhi has managed it well. No power cuts. Uninterrupted power supply,” chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said in a tweet.

Earlier in a tweet, Delhi’s power minister Satyendar Jain said, “Delhi successfully met ever-highest [highest in two years, as per government records] electricity peak demand of 7,323 today. Heartiest congratulations to (the) Delhi power sector for this achievement.”
