PDD engineers to go on strike from Aug 6

The engineers working with Power Development department will be going on a pen down from August 6, in a bid to press for their long pending demands.

The engineers said, “The strike, under the banner of J&K State Joint Action Committee of graduate engineers (JKSJAC), is being held in continuation of protest held on 16 July, 2019, across the state in view of the non-serious attitude of the government in resolving our long pending issues.”

“We have decided to go on a pen down, tool down strike on 6 and 7 August in all the three divisions. In the Valley, the engineers will assemble in PWD engineering complex Rajbagh, from where a peaceful rally will move towards the civil secretariat,” Pirzadah Hidiyatullah, Chairman JKSJAC, said.
