The state government is yet to release compensation to landowners and take the possession of their land for the first phase of the Pathankot-Mandi highway four-lane project between Chakki and 32 Miles. The Centre has already transferred more than Rs 200 crore to land acquisition officials.
Sources today said there was no delay on the part of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and it was the responsibility of the government to disburse the relief to the affected persons and hand over the land to the NHAI for the project.
