Passenger trains cross Balasore on restored tracks
Passenger trains passed through Balasore on Monday morning on restored tracks as the Commissioner of Railway Safety began its inquiry into the June 2 accident.
“Services on both tracks have been restored. Normal train services on both lines have now been restored, 51 hours after the accident,” said railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in Balasore.
Vaishnaw was present at the accident site and waved at the drivers when a train passed through, officials said. An emotional Vaishnaw said that the responsibility was not yet over and vowed to go beyond the immediate aftermath of the incident, focusing on reuniting missing persons with their family members.
