Mumbai: The Railway Ministry has cleared a major plan to create passenger holding areas at 76 key railway stations across the country, including five major terminals in Mumbai, after the success of the New Delhi station model that proved crucial in managing massive festive crowds this month.
The upcoming facilities will be established at CSMT, Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Mumbai Central, and Bandra Terminus. Pune, Nashik Road, Nagpur, and Surat have also been identified under Central and Western Railway zones for similar upgrades.
