Panchkula F&CC gets more power

Now, every tender, even if it is worth less than Rs 1 crore, will be brought to the Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC), Municipal Corporation, for approval.

Earlier, only tenders worth more than Rs 1 crore used to be sent to the committee. According to sources, the officers used to mostly float tenders worth less than Rs 1 crore so that they didn’t have to take permission from the Mayor.
