OPTCL schemes to derail, warns workers’ body

The schemes of the Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) to provide quality and uninterrupted power supply to consumers are going to derail due to favouritism shown by a group of officers to a certain company, alleged the Orissa State Electricity Board(OSEB) Bijuli Karmachari Sangha.

The Sangha alleged that some senior officials of the OPTCL are showing undue favour to a certain company misusing their powers, for which the consumers and the State Government would incur losses.

Without performance eligibility of 30 point,s some Directors of OPTCL have favoured the Tata Power to participate in new tender process. The company was earlier debarred from tender process for six months, the Sangha said. The directors under scanner are bypassing rules to favour the company on technical grounds.
