Only 20% consumers asked to pay security deposit: CSPDCL

In the current year, only 20 percent consumers have been asked to shell out additional security deposit, the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Co Ltd (CSPDCL) clarified on Tuesday.

Commenting on the hike in electricity bill, CSPDCL Managing Director Manoj Khare said this was revised every October, based on the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Supply Code-2011 issued by the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC).

There is a provision to revise the security deposit on the basis of the average consumption of the last 12 months.
