Oman Air flight makes emergency landing at Mumbai airport

An Oman Air Mumbai-Muscat flight made an emergency landing late Wednesday afternoon at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) shortly after its take- off following an engine failure, even as the Mumbai airport continued to bear the brunt of the heavy rains witnessed during the last few days.

The flight WY204 which had taken off from the CSIA at 4.15 pm, returned barely 10 minutes after it was airborne. It was forced to return after one of its engines failed.

There were in all 206 on board the Muscat- bound flight. No passenger was hurt during the emergency landing.

A full emergency was declared at CSIA at 4.42 pm as the flight returned and landed safely on a single engine around 4.58 pm.
