Oil prices rise ahead of expected US interest rate cut
TOKYO: OilNSE 0.62 % prices extended overnight gains on Tuesday amid widespread expectations the US Federal Reserve will cut interest rates for the first time in more than a decade this week.
Brent crude rose 30 cents, or 0.5 per cent, to $64.01 a barrel by 0013 GMT, after gaining 0.4 per cent the previous session.
US crude <CLc1 was up 34 cents or 0.6 per cent, at $57.21 a barrel, having risen 1.2 per cent on Monday.
