OIL expects to complete capping operation of gas bearing well in Baghjan, Tinsukia

GUWAHATI: Oil India Limited NSE -2.00 % (OIL) is expecting that it will complete the capping operation of the gas bearing well in Baghjan in Tinsukia district in next couple of days.

The gas producing well blew out on May 27 and it more than a month that that the well is still in inferno. It exploded into a massive inferno on June 9.

A senior official in OIL, who do not want to be named told ET, “In next couple of days the capping operation will be accomplished. After that we will go for the killing of the well.”
