Numaligarh Refinery awards Rs 300 cr expansion project to thyssenkrupp

GUWAHATI: Thyssenkrupp’s plant engineering business announced that it has been awarded an order worth Rs 300 Crore by Assam-based Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL)for refinery expansion mega project

According to the company, thyssenkrupp will provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for arious units of a refinery located in Numaligarh in Northeastern India. NRL is expanding its refining capacity from three to nine million metric tons per year. The project is expected to be completed by 2024.

The refinery expansion project is part of the government of India’s initiative towards “Hydrocarbon Vision 2030” for the northeast region of India. The efforts are aimed at exploiting the region’s hydrocarbon sector to facilitate economic development, enhance the access to clean fuels, increase the availability of petroleum products and create employment opportunities.
