NTPC boxes itself in to protect power generation

NEW DELHI: State-run NTPC has put in place measures beyond the standard protocol, including putting curbs on entry of people for business meetings, to protect personnel from coronavirus infection and possible disruption in power production.
NTPC accounts for approximately 16% of the total generation capacity in the country and forms the backbone of power supply for a majority of the states. A company statement on Friday said it has issued advisories to its employees in line with the protocol laid down by the Centre, including do’s and don’ts, .
In addition, face-to-face business meetings are being limited to the ones that are totally unavoidable. Special boxes have been placed in the company establishments for courier or postal deliveries. These measures are aimed at limiting entry and contact with people outside the company’s protection protocol.
