Now, remote control at 22 state power sub-stations

Mumbai: The state government has undertaken a project under which it will soon monitor 22 power sub-stations remotely, principal secretary (energy) Dinesh Waghmare said at a programme organised by government on social media on Thursday.
Waghmare said the sub-stations will be in the first phase, and gradually every sub-station will be “remotely managed and operated”. “For this we have set up Maharashtra Transmission Asset Management Centre,” he said.
Mumbai had faced power outages due to tripping or failure of sub-stations in transmission network. Sources said with remote monitoring, faults could be detected and rectified quickly.
