North Chennai gas smell: CPCL reduces LPG production

CHENNAI: As directed by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB), Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) has reduced LPG production to 75%.
TNPCB’s direction to CPCL came in the wake of continuous gas smell in Manali and Tiruvottiyur areas of in North Chennai. CPCL is one of the largest petroleum refineries in the area.
In its response to the TNPCB, CPCL said it had reduced the production on a temporary basis.
