No respite for power companies as demand turns negative

Power demand shrank last week compared with the same period of last year when India was under a nationwide lockdown.

Lockdowns and other restrictions in several states, coupled with rains have denied chances of a good summer for power projects, which were expecting record demand and better capacity utilisation.
