No change in petrol and diesel prices for 31st day straight

Prices of petrol and diesel remained unchanged for the 31st consecutive day.

Prices have remained unchanged since July 18. Petrol continued to retail at Rs 101.84 per litre in Delhi while in Mumbai it is selling at Rs 107.83 per litre.

Prices of petrol and diesel vary from state to state depending on the extent of local taxes. Tamil Nadu had cut prices of petrol by Rs 3 per litre.

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman refused to cut taxes on fuel as she said that oil NSE 0.72 % bond payments have put a burden on government finances.
