No bids invited for running passenger trains on PPP mode: Railways

The Ministry of Railways announced on Tuesday that it has no plans to solicit bids for the operation of passenger trains under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.

According to a news item written in a notable daily and digital edition, Indian Railways has for the first time encouraged bidders from private entities to operate 150 pairs of passenger trains under the PPP model. It also stated that private entities would be free to set traveller fares on these trains.
