NHAI repairs Palasuni flyover
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Monday hastily repaired the portion of the Palasuni flyover, which had sunk on NH-16 between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Sunday evening.
The affected portion of the flyover has been barricaded and policemen have been deployed to manage the heavy vehicular traffic. Sources said the affected portion would be opened for traffic on Tuesday.
The flyover which was commissioned nearly a year ago and constructed by Simplex Constructions is a lifeline for commuters travelling between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
Irate locals alleged that due to poor quality construction, inferior quality of materials used and lack of supervision by the NHAI authorities, the flyover sank.
