National Highway Network Expansion: Nitin Gadkari unveils ‘decade of development’ amidst challenges – A report

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highway, Nitin Gadkari, recently announced that National Highway projects which are worth nearly Rs 3 lakh crore have been sanctioned over the past decade. This massive investment has led to a significant 45% increase in the length of National Highways across the country. However, Gadkari did point out that there are land acquisition challenges in states like Nagaland and Meghalaya. He revealed that if these issues aren’t resolved soon, some projects might have to be put on hold.
