Mumbai’s Western Railway staff protest against administrative actions and welfare issues
Mumbai: Motormen and train managers of Western Railway held an agitation meeting at the Churchgate lobby on Friday, protesting what they described as arbitrary administrative actions and increasing pressure on running staff.
The meeting, attended by a large number of motormen, train managers, and union office bearers from across unions, highlighted three major grievances: denial of regular leave and weekly offs, forced double duties imposed on motormen, and the continued closure of the Churchgate motormen and train managers’ canteen for the past seven months.
