Mumbai: Thane bullet train station planned as transport hub with better connectivity and infrastructure

Thane: The upcoming high-speed rail (HSR) station in Thane on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train route will replicate the Japanese model of creating a transport hub around it and developing public infrastructure facilities within walking distance.

An initial level meeting to discuss the plans was held in Mumbai early this week in the presence of deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde at the MSRDC office, along with Naveen Sona, principal secretary to the DCM, and representatives from Maharail and the National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL).
