Mumbai: Commuters’ org gives suggestions to cut rail mishaps
Thane: Passenger representatives from Thane have criticised the sluggish pace of crucial suburban railway projects. They blame delays for forcing commuters to travel in hazardous conditions, which they allege could be responsible for the mishaps involving passengers along the busy Thane-Kalyan corridor.
A delegation from the Mumbai Rail Pravasi Sangh (MRPS), a prominent railway commuters’ organisation, met senior NCP-SP leader Sharad Pawar on Thursday. They claimed that over 1,000 lives were lost and 1,800 were injured in various mishaps between 2014 and 2024.
