Mumbai: Power company floats tender for 7 lakh smart meters

MUMBAI: Adani Electricity has invited bids for installing over seven lakh smart meters in household and commercial units in the suburbs to ensure real-time information on power consumption.

“The smart meters will be a win-win for both, the firm and consumers. Both can…ensure that the reading is accurate. The meters will also avoid situations like average billings that happened during lockdown,” an official said. The smart meters will also prevent power thefts and ensure minimum power distribution losses. The last date for bid submission is September 14.
