MUMBAI: After hefty electricity bills, residents are now complaining of ‘high cooking gas bills’. NGO Watchdog Foundation on Sunday alleged that a few residents of a prominent residential complex in Powai got ‘inflated’ piped natural gas (PNG) bills in December.
“The bills are upto three times the normal bi-monthly consumption,” said Godfrey Pimenta, from the NGO. He said a few members had approached him and he would take the case up with Mahanagar Gas Limited.
A few bills showed that while the normal consumption would be 14 units (scm), the October-November bill consumption was 47 units, a resident told TOI.
MGL officials said they needed time to comment on this and would get back with their version soon.
