Mumbai airport handles over 8 lakh domestic passengers in 100 days
MUMBAI: Mumbai airport has handled over eight lakh passengers in 100 days since domestic commercial passenger flights were restarted. It included over 4.5 lakh departure passengers and 3.7 lakh arrival passengers, according to data released by Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) on Wednesday.
The airport handled 7,981 domestic flights from May 25 to September 1 operated by 10 airlines and catering to 47 sectors in the country. “Among destinations served, the airport saw the highest passenger load capacity on Mumbai-Delhi route with 1,52,583 passengers, followed by Varanasi (79,391), Patna (60,116) and Kolkata (37,385),’’ MIAL said. While departing flights had higher passenger load in the initial weeks of flights restarting, flights arriving here have better loads now.
