MP gets record tariff of Rs 2.7/unit in unique solar plus storage project

Madhya Pradesh has set a record in India’s renewable energy pricing, with a solar-plus-storage project of 600 MW and 880MWh (dual cycle) comprising two units clearing at Rs 2.7/unit and Rs 2.76/unit, for a combination that will supply the same capacity during the day as well as in the evening peak hours.

The winning bidders are Ceigall India Ltd and ACME Solar with tariffs of Rs 2.7 and Rs 2.764 per unit for Unit I and Unit II, respectively

This is the first firm renewable energy bid in India to fall below Rs 3/unit, the state government said.
