More direct flights between Bengaluru-Sydney by year-end

BENGALURU: Direct air connectivity between Bengaluru and Sydney is expected to improve significantly by the end of 2023 with the much anticipated introduction of more flights catering to the growing influx of tourists and business travellers from India to Australia after the easing of pandemic restrictions, reports Petlee Peter.

Currently, Qantas is the only airline to connect southern India to Australia with four direct flights a week. The airline began the direct Bengaluru-Sydney flights on September 14, 2022. Indian traveller arrivals in Sydney have crossed 1,40,000 annually as of February, with a sizeable number from Bengaluru.
