More AC local train services likely under Central Railway

After the commissioning of fifth and sixth railway lines between Thane and Diva railway station, more air-conditioned local train services will be operated under the Central Railway’s (CR) main line between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus(CSMT),Karjat , Kasara and Khopoli railway station.

According to the officials, Currently, there are only four local trains on the Central and Harbour lines and due to the constraints of tracks/lines on the main line of CR, there are only 10 services/trips of AC local trains.

After the commissioning of the firth and sixth tracks between Thane and Diva, it will create a space for running more 80 AC local train services on the main line as compared to the existing 10 services.
