Morbi bridgecollapse: Municipality’s general board meeting today, to discuss response to govt notice

Four days after the state government served a notice on the Morbi municipality asking why it should not be dissolved in view of its “failure” leading to the Jhulto Pul suspension bridge collapse, the general board of the BJP-ruled civic body will meet Monday to prepare its response to the state’s show-cause notice.

Municipality president Kusum Parmar has called for a meeting of the 52-member general board at 3:30 pm on Monday. The two-point agenda of the meeting includes approving minutes of the last general board meeting, and discussing and deciding a response to the show-cause notice issued by the urban development and urban housing department of the state government on January 18.
