Mohali: One killed, seven hurt as under-construction bridge on university campus collapses

The deceased was identified as Honey alias Chunnu, a resident of Jhanjeri village. Honey was working with working as a supervisor at the construction site.

One person died and seven were injured after an under-construction bridge connecting two buildings of a private university in Sector 101 collapsed. Police have launched an investigation under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) to know the reason behind the incident.

According to the police, the incident had taken place at Plaksha University late Saturday night when the constructions workers were laying a pre-mixture on the bridge being built to connect two buildings of the university campus. The bridge was being built to be around 150-200 metres long.
