MoEFCC offers olive branch to railways to pass through core area of PTR

There is good news for the railways. The ministry of environment, forest and climate change (forest conservation division) has given an olive branch to the railways.

Assistant inspector general of forests Sandeep Sharma has sent a letter of clarification to all the principal chief conservators of forest and chief wildlife wardens of the states including Jharkhand, stating that railways can execute or maintain its works on its railway land within the railway right of way in the tiger reserve or sanctuary and the forest conservation act 1980 will not come in the way.

The railways’ works are varied like laying of new lines, construction of crossings, culverts, bridges etc.
