Metro to Tumakuru: Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd floats tender for detailed project report

Bengaluru: Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) on Saturday floated a tender for the preparation of a detailed project report (DPR) to extend Metro services to Tumakuru. The 59.6km line will be an extension of the currently operating Green Line, which runs from Madavara to Silk Institute.

With the Bommasandra-Hosur Metro extension moving at a snail’s pace, it will become the state’s first inter-city Metro project. A feasibility study submitted to the state govt in May was eventually approved under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, despite a special purpose vehicle model with joint funding from the state and central govts, estimated at Rs 18,670 crore.
