Metro Railway non-fare revenue jumps 91% in FY23

Kolkata: Metro Railway’s non-fare revenue has jumped a record 91% this fiscal against the year-ago period, earning it the fifth rank in the non-fare income category among zonal railways across the country.

“Metro has earned Rs 29.5 crore during April 1, 2022 to February 28, 2023, from the non-fare segment. In 2021-22, Metro earned Rs 15.5 crore as non-fare revenue (NFR) till February. This is a 90.5% increase. With only 40 stations in its flap, Metro Railway has ranked fifth among all zonal railways in cumulative NFR earnings,” said Metro Railway CPRO Kaushik Mitra.

In 2021-22, Metro earned Rs 19.5 crore, which was a whopping 71% higher than the previous financial year.
