Metro Rail Act may be amended to prevent attachment of assets
The centre has proposed changes to the Metro Railways (Operations and Maintenance) Act, 2002 to shield metro properties in the event of a dispute with concessionaires. According to officials in the know, these amendments will remove any clauses in the present act that allow takeover of metro properties by unfavourable court verdicts.
