MCD starts installation of 46,000 LED street lights in new wards

The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) commenced the installation of around 46,000 LED street lights in the new wards from Monday. Earlier, the corporation had planned to start the installation work from January 15 but according to officials, it got delayed after the counsellors intervened in the process due to which the corporation had to select names of the wards through the lottery system. The municipal commissioner, Vinay Shankar Pandey informed that as per the recent revised survey conducted by the EESL company which will install the street lights in the new wards, the installation of around 46,000 street lights is required in 29 new wards instead of the earlier estimation of about 65,000 street lights.
