Mayor Firhad Hakim expressed dissatisfaction over broken stretches of the EM Bypass during an inspection of the city’s roads late on Wednesday.
Hakim, also the urban development minister, told engineers of the Calcutta Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) to ensure prompt repair of the road.
Hakim got down from his car near the transport department’s office at the Ruby crossing. The surface of the Ultadanga-bound flank was worn out and it sported multiple craters. Police officers showed the minister the broken condition of both the Ultdanga-bound and Garia-bound flanks of the Bypass
The mayor then proceeded towards the Anwar Shah Road connector but stopped at Avishikta crossing, where potholes dotted the road.
