Management-led bailout plan for Jet evokes little enthusiasm; employees pin revival hopes on banks

Employees of Jet Airways and aviation experts are not convinced that the management-led bailout plan proposed by a clutch of minority shareholders will revive the company.

While senior pilots in the company are willing to explore the option, most believe that bankers-led resolution was the best way forward.

Asim Vailani, Vice-President, National Aviators’ Guild, the pilots body of Jet Airways, said: “If there is an employee-led initiative and it is convincing and if it is the only option left to save the airline, I would not mind converting my salary into equity. However, I would want it to be a concrete plan.
