Major study to be instituted to upgrade 6,000 km of National Highways to global standards

NEW DELHI: The Narendra Modi-led government has decided to institute a major study into over 6,000 km of national highways which covers over a dozen states, including the North-South and East-West corridors, to upgrade them to “global standards”.

The study will “identify issues impacting the efficiency of the corridors and design solutions,” and assess them against a “global benchmark”, as per a document reviewed by ET.
