Mahila Cong protests gas price hike

The Mahila Congress on Monday staged a demonstration at Master Canteen Square here protesting against the rising prices of cooking gas as the Central Government raised prices of gas cylinders on July 6.

Women activists led by Mahila Congress Bhubaneswar district president Gitanjnali Mohanty carried empty gas cylinders and burnt effigies of Prime Minister Modi.

Mohanty told that both the Modi Government at the Centre and the Naveen Patnaik Government in the State have betrayed the people by increasing prices of essential commodities including cooking gas. As women take the maximum household burden, they feel betrayed by both Governments for their failure to control the prices of LPG, etc.
