Maharashtra asked to allow more flights, state keen to wait a it longer
New Delhi | Mumbai: A week into domestic operations, the aviation ministry has requested the Maharashtra government to allow more flights in and out of its airports, particularly Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, officials familiar with the development said.
The request, however, may not be accepted for now, as the state government seems divided over increasing the number of flights further, they said.
“Based on our discussions with the Maharashtra government, we have requested the state government to increase the number of flights to the earlier approved flight schedule,” said a senior central government official, who did not want to be identified.
