Lifeline Udan flights delivered over 350 tonnes of air cargo across the Northeast India during the lockdown period
Guwahati: Lifeline Udan flights have delivered over 350 tonnes of air cargo across the Northeast India during the lockdown period.
The airports located in North East are quick connecting links between the states and the people living here and during the nation-wide lock down, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has been providing air navigational and on ground services for the- Life Line Udan flights enabling smooth and timely flow of medical goods and supporting items to the states.
In a statement AAI stated, “Till 07.05.2020, over 465 Life-Line udan flights have covered 4,51,038 Kilometers of journey to deliver more than 836 tonnes of air cargo in the country and the figure at North East stands approx. 350 tonnes. The air cargo goods includes mostly medical items consisting of PPEs, medicines, masks and other essentials to help state Government and India’s fight against Corona”.
