LG nod to fell 292 trees for two projects
NEW DELHI: Lieutenant governor VK Saxena on Monday gave his nod to fell and transplant 292 trees for two separate projects in the capital.
While 214 trees will be removed to pave way for the construction of a defence project in southeast Delhi’s Tughlaqabad area, 78 trees will be felled to build a maintenance depot for Vande Bharat trains at north Delhi’s Shakurbasti area.
According to officials, the defence project at Tughlaqabad involves 2.15 hectares of land, while the railway project at Shakurbasti is spread over 10.12 hectares of area.
