Leaking pipes damage roads in Palampur

Leaking pipes on various roads of Palampur have become a big nuisance. Though the Public Works and IPH Department are well versed with the situation, no steps have been initiated to plug the leakages.

Both the departments are involved in a war of words over the issue but none has cared to repair the roads, which have developed deep potholes, causing inconvenience to the public.

The SSB Chowk- Neugal parking road, used by thousands of persons daily, is the worst effected as deep potholes here have resulted in fatal accidents. There are over a dozen points where pipes are regularly leaking for the past many months. Roads leadings to Maranda via Choki is also in a shambles, as there are about 1-feet-deep potholes on this stretch.
